Walk for Respect

The Little Compton Prevention Coalition was happy to take part in the 1st annual Walk for Respect with the  Wilbur- Mc Mahon  School students, staff and administrators .  The walk began at South Shore beach on the morning of May 1st and continued along South Shore Rd, to Brownell Rd. , to South of Commons Rd, where they hit the home stretch around the Commons. The Coalition passed water out supplied by the school along the route.  Rebecca Elwell said a few words on respecting yourself, others and belongings.  The coalition also had a table with a few activities.   The Children ate lunch outside, enjoyed frozen yogurt and participated in afternoon events.

Turning the Tide in the Ocean State

The Ocean State Prevention Alliance, (OSPA) an organization supporting and advocating for effective initiatives to reduce marijuana use in youth, invites community members to attend a forum on the impact of marijuana in our communities.  Experts from law enforcement, prevention and treatment fields will present science-based information on the risks and consequences of marijuana use.
